Founder, CEO, Creator and Developer of the Beach Buddy App
Dawn Lindsay is the founder, CEO, creator and developer of the Beach Buddy App and the founder of Safe Ocean Project LLC.
She created Beach Buddy to give beachgoers one convenient place to find beaches, review conditions and amenities, understand beach flags and rules, monitor shark activity and stay informed about marine hazards.
Dawn personally oversees Beach Buddy’s development, marine-hazard monitoring capabilities, shark-data features, public outreach and regional-support program.
Beach Buddy was developed as both a beach-planning resource and a public-facing marine-hazard awareness platform. The app combines beach information, weather and marine conditions, hazard reporting, favorite-location monitoring, shark activity and mobile alerts to help users make more informed decisions before and during a beach visit.
Dawn’s work also includes the development of Beach Buddy Regional Support for coastal governments and eligible organizations. The regional platform is designed to support marine-hazard communication, incident documentation and public awareness while complementing, rather than replacing, official emergency-alert systems.
She continues to lead Beach Buddy’s technical development, public education campaigns and outreach related to the implementation of Lulu’s Law and the future of shark-attack and marine-hazard communication.
